Happy Fall!
This is 100% my favorite time of year, and not just because of Halloween. (Though it’s a huge part of it, I’ll admit.) That’s part of why I chose to release my first book in the fall. And I’m telling you all that to say that Finding Salus will turn 5 on Halloween! It doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since my first book released, but the math doesn’t lie. And to celebrate, I’m giving you a present! On Halloween (and November 1st because I know Halloween can be busy), the eBook for Finding Salus will be FREE and the rest of the series will be just 99 cents. So now is the time to get those eBooks if you haven’t already!
I’ve had a lot of book events the last month, and I’ve had a blast with both the readers and other authors, but that’s slowing down now. There’s only one between now and the next newsletter, which is CONjuration. I’ll be both a panelist and selling books, so if you’re going, come by and say hi! Mention this newsletter and you’ll even get a free bookmark of your choice! (I’ve got feathers, dragons, and more!)
Now, onto the book updates. Sadly, the past month has been a little hectic between events and my husband getting my sick (as husbands do) so there aren’t many.
- The Guardian’s Flame: As I’ve already mentioned, this one is next up on the list. Unfortunately, it is being pushed to November, but I have a date for you! November 20th is the big day, and I’ll be getting this up for preorder soon.
- Prisoner 4287: No, I didn’t use the title here (Avenged, in case you forgot, which I wouldn’t blame you for) but there’s a reason for that. I told you that this book was being a problem child, and it hasn’t gotten better! Three things have become apparent to me about this one.
- A) There was a big story problem that needed resolved before I could release it, because I refuse to release a story I wouldn’t read and enjoy.
- B) It was getting too long. This wouldn’t be an issue if it was the first in a series or a standalone, but it was looking like it was going to be nearly twice the size of Hunted, which just didn’t work. (My brain wouldn’t let me do it.)
- C) Because of B and because the story decided to be more complicated than originally planned, Prisoner 4287 will no longer be a duet, but is being turned into a trilogy. This means a revamping of the book. So while it will still be released, it may take longer than expected. Look for it in 2027! Avenged will still be the title of the last book, but the new second book will have a different title. (Of course.)
And for the last bit of news. I introduced the Megaverse years ago, because I knew I would have multiple series in the same world. My husband came up with the name, and I loved the pun of it. However, it is being changed. Nothing that will affect the books, but if you have any of the Immortal Love or Athenaeum series in paperback, consider them limited editions, as they will soon no longer say “A Megaverse Novel” on them. Instead they will say “An Arcane Veil Novel”. It will take a bit of time to get the changes pushed through everywhere, but it will be complete by the end of the year.
That’s all I’ve got for now! So enjoy the cooling weather, don’t forget to curl up with a book (regardless of the format) and keep reading!
